History and Experiences which have Affected Character Greatly:

As a boy growing up in England and in Germany, John Gambolpuddy suffered from undiagnosed mental illness. This affected him growing up.

He found early relief in acting and stage performing.

In his mid 20's Gambolpuddy married and tried to run a small inn in Germany, called Gambolpuddy Towers. John was a complete failure at this, and within three years suffered a total mental breakdown.

Recovering from this (Barely) Gambolpuddy became an employee of various government ministries.

In his early 40's he met a deranged former spy, a con woman, and a pet loving bank robber. Gambolpuddy found himself enmeshed in a complex plot to steal gems. After a brutal standoff with the deranged spy and being dumped by the con woman, Gambolpuddy suffered another break down and was hospitalized.

After intense therapy and counseling with the dalai lama, Gambolpuddy found his inner serenity, and found his true calling. He wants to help other people find the calm serenity and acceptance within themselves.

Gambolpuddy went to medical school and studied hard, earning his MD and his PhD. While in school, Gambolpuddy worked in a zoo as well as working as a reserve police officer, notably in the food safety ministry, and other special investigative departments.

Earning his degrees, Gambolpuddy went into practice and has been very successful.

Gambolpuddy has been enticed to join Starfleet, and take up the position of ship's counselor, on the advice of his acquaintance, Father Seamus McTague. Gambolpuddy and McTague met during a deep discussion about the minds and souls of the native of the planet Skyron, which continued through many games of Tennis.
