The Most High and GRID Central were not going to press forward with charges. They gave him an option: Suicide or Service. It was a hard decision. For twenty years he had been driven to help others and solve crimes. He was good at it too. But this thing. This crime he had done. Had he done all he could do? Piper set his meds on the night stand and laid down. He decided not to take his meds tonight. He wanted to dream, he needed to dream, he had to dream. And, for the first time in over twenty years, he slept soundly. Burden released, sins acknowledged. Suicide was still an option. That would never be taken off the table, but for now, he could sleep like a normal person for once – bad dreams or not.
