The Omoikane stories take place in a different timeline than ST-OM

The Divergence is that in this timeline - the Discovery Stayed at Coventry (Now called Oz) and helped themm recover into a full Federation Planet.

It's now 30 years later.

What with one thing and another a weird stellar phenomenon has duplicated the USS Harrier twice

Because of a Manpower crunch, Starfleet is very reluctant to turn down competent people.

So Hailey3 and the crew of the 3rd Harrier have joined the future Starfleet and now drive the USS Omoikane - A ship akin to the Galaxy class.

H3 and his crew have been sent far away from the other Haileys in order to mininmize confusion and possible favoritism.
