Chapter 4

Collins was about to leave Top Deck when the door to the ready room finally opened. Loggar was in good spirits until she saw Collins. Collins looked up. It was too late to retreat. She hadn’t really figured out what she was going to say or do. She cleared her throat. “Doctor, Captain.”
Sean stopped mid step. “Doctor? A visit to Top Deck?”
Collins nodded. “I have that report you requested earlier.” Sean knew it was a lie. He was certain Loggar saw through her lie, too. “Okay, you can give it to me in the Ready Room.” He turned to Loggar and forced a smile. “Tonight? Dinner?”
Loggar eyed Collins, then Sean. She smiled and tried to sound relaxed, “Certainly Sean. I’ll be with Herb and the others if you need to talk.” She turned and faced the Doctor. “Karen. All is well?”
Collins nodded, her smile still forced, “It is, Kathy. We can talk later at your convenience.”
Loggar nodded and made her way to the Lift. Everyone stood fast until the Lift doors closed.
“Captain, we do need to talk.”
Sean nodded, “Okay Doctor. Follow me.”
And the two disappeared behind the door.

Sean moved aside the empty dishes. He sat.
Collins waited for Sean to get comfortable before she sat down.
They stared at one another for a moment.
“She mentioned circles,” Collins broke the silence.
Sean nodded. He pursed his lips. “A lot to take in.”
Collins nodded.
“Kathy mentioned local and regional Goddesses. The Johnson doesn’t have one?”
“I would be the one.”
“How come?”
Collins shrugged, “Oblivious, sir.”
“Me, too.”
Silence stood awkwardly between them.
“Now what?” Sean asked.
“Do you like me?”
“Pardon?”
“Do you like me, Captain?”
“A bit more than I should admit.”
That was a relief to Collins. Dawn had hit the nail on the head. She had always liked the Captain, but tried to keep everything professional. There were nights, when she was alone, she would dream of the two of them. She would have just reached an orgasm, thighs still trembling when the dream would end. She leaned in slightly.
Sean noticed. His only other ship board relationship had been with Dawn. But that was years ago and at the height of the War. He promised himself not to get physically involved with another shipmate. He leaned in slightly.
“You understand once we cross the line . . .”
He nodded and leaned in closer. “I understand. Are you prepared?”
And before she knew it they kissed. It was like a flood. She explored his mouth with her’s. His lips were amazingly soft and his tongue matched her’s. The texture was wonderful she told herself and kissed him harder. Sean slid over the table and sat next to her. He embraced her as a lover back from a long absence. His arms surrounded her in an embrace that conveyed . . . fulfillment. He held her as they kissed with finality of a thirst finally quenched. Her hand slipped into his lap and she felt how hard he was becoming. She grabbed and stroked him up and down enjoying how she was able to make him so hard. He kissed her neck and moved a hand over a breast. She reached into his pants and felt how soft his skin was. The tip was moist. She played her finger across it as he caressed her breast. She withdrew her hand and licked her fingers. She reveled at how sweet he tasted. He rubbed his other hand across her cheeks. He became further aroused at how toned and firm she felt. He lifted her up onto his lap. She had already pulled him out and feverishly stroked him into rock hard. His hand reached down and felt that she was moist. His fingers moved her panties aside and he found her recently shaved. He played his fingers over her. She was swollen with arousal and her aroma was intoxicating. He grabbed her hand and began rubbing himself along her folds until he gently slipped in. She inhaled as he entered and kissed him again. She worked her hips, stroking back and forth. He used both hands on her cheeks and kept her in rhythm. She frantically thrusted her hips until a thick wave of ecstasy washed over her, then one intense wave after another. In moments she was spent, her thighs spasmodic and her mind racing. Sean just held her. He was in no rush now that the line had been crossed. There would be time enough for him.
“Sean,” she whispered, “what have we done?”
“Something we should have done long ago.”
Collins wiped tears from her eyes. She nodded. “Now what?”
“Tonight we have dinner and work out all the details.”
Collins straightened her dress and slipped her panties back in place.
Sean tucked himself back in place.
Minutes later both were composed and ready to face Top Deck. Both exited the door at the same time.
“Thank you Doctor. I will take everything you’ve told me under consideration.”
Collins faced Sean and nodded. “You’ll have the rest of my report this evening.” She turned and left, but not before giving Dawn a sideward glance.
Dawn smiled and knew what just happened. She turned to Kirkland. “Mr. Kirkland, cancel that last pool and delete it from record.”
He laughed, “Yes, ma’am, but how should I classify it?”
Dawn replied, “First Officer Decree. Results too ambiguous."
